Despite of great improvements in e.g. mobile cellular networks during the past decade, the changes in the future may be even more dramatic in wireless networks development. Several enabling basic technological barriers seem to become solved in the near future. This will potentially cause dramatic changes the way commercial wireless networks will function and deliver services for users. In this presentation, an overview of critical enabling technologies which are foreseen to change the future wireless access is given.
