Possible realization of materials with Weyl fermions in their low energy sector is an exciting new development in solid state physics. In this talk I focus on two aspects of Weyl semimetals: Adler-Bell-Jackiw anomaly and correlated phases. First I discuss the influence of topology on transport characteristics as revealed by an anisotropic conductivity even in a cubic crystal. The interplay of topology and interactions drives the system into unconventional correlated phases. In particular excitonic insulators and superconductors with odd parity are realized in Weyl semimetals which will be subject of the second half of the presentation.
