Biography of Edward Telles:
Edward Telles was previously professor at Princeton University and UCLA. He is a prolific author of research papers, having published over 50 articles and book chapters including many in the discipline’s most prestigious and highly selective journals. Among these are three in the American Sociological Review, four in the American Journal of Sociology, and one each in Demography, Social Forces, and the Annual Review of Sociology. He wrote Race in Another America, 2004, which won the Distinguished Scholarly Publication Award from the American Sociological Association, the Otis Dudley Duncan Award for the best book in Social Demography and several other awards; Generations of Exclusion: Mexican Americans, Assimilation, and Race, 2008 with Ortiz, also won the Duncan Award, as well as the Best Book Award from the Pacific Sociological Association; he co-edited Just Neighbors? Research on African American and Latino Relations in the United States, 2011.
